At this year’s United Motorcoach Association (UMA) Expo bus trade show in Long Beach, California (8–12 February 2012), the Setra brand showcased an exclusive TopClass S 417 touring coach and the very economical ComfortClass S 407. In addition to luxury items of equipment, this year’s exhibits feature the Electronic Stability Program ESP® which is standard-fit on US touring coaches provided by the Ulm-based brand from now on.

ESP® is an active system which improves handling safety and stability and is based on the electronic ABS advanced anti-lock braking system, which optimises braking force. ESP® enhances safety by boosting handling stability within the laws of physics. It intervenes by reducing engine torque and applying the service brake in specific driving situations.

Lothar Holder, Head of Sales Setra Buses & Coaches EvoBus GmbH, emphasised the brand’s high standards of passenger safety at the trade show: "For the TopClass S 417 and ComfortClass S 407, the Electronic Stability Program now forms part of standard equipment, meeting high requirements in the area of active safety."
