The new S 511 HD from the ComfortClass 500 follows in impressive footsteps: the heritage of the new S 511 HD extends from the legendary S 6 of the 1950s to the luxurious S 411 HD from the TopClass 400. Unlike its predecessors, the new S 511 HD is a product of the ComfortClass 500 modular system. A length of just 10.47 m makes the new high-decker suitable for high-grade club travel, VIP shuttles or trips with a manageable number of participants. The club bus uses the components from large-scale production, and therefore offers the full comfort of the ComfortClass 500 in the passenger compartment.

Choice of centre or rear door

The new Setra S 511 HD is available with a centre or rear door. With a centre door and in three-star seat configuration, the club bus has a capacity of up to 43 seats. An advantage of the version with centre door is that it allows special variations such as exclusive seating groups for VIP tours. The version with a rear door is equally attractive. In this case the maximum seat capacity is 41. A major advantage of the rear door variant is its luggage capacity, which is an impressive 7.5 m3. There are hardly any limits to the interior features. For example, both versions are available with a level floor and 2+1 VIP seating.

Whether in drive or safety technology - the new club bus is fully mature

With the 10.7-litre OM 470 six-cylinder in-line engine rated at 290 kW (394 hp), the engine power is almost the same as that of the larger family members. The same applies to the power transfer by a six-speed manual transmission with a joystick gearshift in the instrument panel, or alternatively the GO 250-8 PowerShift automated manual transmission. The extensive safety technology extends from Front Collision Guard as impact protection for the driver to the electronic stability program ESP and the optional emergency braking system Active Brake Assist.



The new S 519 HD: giant seating capacity with a length of 15 m and up to 71 seats


Measuring 15 m in length, the S 519 HD offers the most number of seats.

When a high-decker with maximum seating capacity is required, the vehicle of choice has to be the new Setra S 519 HD. With a length of 14.95 m it makes full use of the maximum 15 m almost to the centimetre, and is Setra's longest touring coach. Nonetheless the S 519 HD is surprisingly manoeuvrable with its turning circle of 23.7 m.

This space wonder from Setra is especially suitable for long-distance routes with highly frequented stretches and a high proportion of motorway driving. Assuming that its enormous capacity is frequently utilised, the new S 519 HD offers excellent economy. No single-decker touring coach has a higher seating capacity than the new Setra. With a three-star seating arrangement the S 519 HD with no onboard toilet has a capacity of 71 passenger seats, and 65 seats with a toilet. The luggage compartment capacity is 12.6 m3 without a toilet and 11.4 m3 with a toilet. On request the S 519 HD is also available with a level floor. 2+1 VIP seating is also possible. On request a wheelchair lift can also be installed on the right side, behind the front axle.


Most powerful engine variant in the ComfortClass 500

The standard engine is the six-cylinder in-line Mercedes-Benz OM 470 with a displacement of 10.7 l. In its most powerful version it is installed with an output of 315 kW (428 hp). The six-cylinder in-line Mercedes-Benz OM 471 is available as an alternative. This is rated at 350 kW (476 hp) in the Setra high-decker. The transmission used with both variants is the automated GO 250-8 PowerShift manual transmission.

Moreover, the longest Setra touring coach is as safe as any other high-decker in the ComfortClass 500. From Front Collision Guard to the electronic stability program ESP, the new S 519 HD has an exemplary level of equipment. With adaptive cruise control including third-generation Active Brake Assist from
mid-2015 and other features, it is available with the full, unrivalled range of safety technology and assistance systems.
